My journey from Wolves Academy to inspiring young keepers
My time at Wolves Academy inspired me more than anything else to become a goalkeeping coach and start STAN AMOS GK ACADEMY. Training in a professional environment made me realise just how much knowledge, technique, and discipline I’d learned over the years. But it also made me appreciate the coaches who took the time to invest in me. I reached a point where I knew I wanted to give that same guidance back to younger keepers. STAN AMOS GK ACADEMY is my way of passing on everything I’ve learned — helping young goalkeepers grow in confidence, develop proper skills, and enjoy the journey just like I did.

What makes my coaching approach unique is that it’s built directly from the standards, detail, and professionalism I learned during my time at Wolves Academy. Training in that environment showed me how much goes into developing a goalkeeper properly—not just the technical side, but mindset, discipline, and confidence.
I’ve taken everything I learned there and shaped it into a coaching style that’s clear, supportive, and easy for young goalkeepers to understand. I know what it feels like to be in their position, learning the basics and wanting to improve, so I focus on breaking things down in a way that builds belief as well as skill.
Beyond skills: fostering confidence and enjoyment in every keeper
At Stan Amos GK Academy, I don’t just teach goalkeeping—I pass on real academy-level knowledge in a way that’s fun, positive, and personalised for every child. That combination of experience and connection is what makes my coaching effective. Helping goalkeepers develop isn’t just about technique—it’s about giving them the encouragement, the knowledge, and the environment I was lucky enough to have. Knowing I can play a part in their journey is what motivates me every day.
